Accessibility

David Kratzer wants this website to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. This statement is published voluntarily and describes how far davidkratzer.photo meets this goal.

Standard

The website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. This is the most recent version of the guidelines referenced by the European standard EN 301 549.

Conformance status

The website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA: most content meets the requirements, with the exceptions listed below.

What has been done

  • Every image has a text alternative; it is a required field when images are uploaded. Purely decorative stills are hidden from screen readers.
  • All functions can be used with the keyboard. A “Skip to content” link leads directly to the main content, and the element in focus is clearly outlined.
  • Project information that appears next to the mouse pointer is also shown when a project is reached with the keyboard, and on small screens it is always visible below each image.
  • Films only start when you press the play button; they then have controls for pausing, volume and full screen.
  • Each page has a title, a main heading and a clear heading structure, and the page language is set to English.
  • Text colours have a contrast ratio of at least 12:1 against their background.
  • Animations are reduced if your device is set to “reduce motion”.
  • Text can be enlarged with the browser zoom; the layout adapts to small screens without horizontal scrolling.

Known limitations

  • The film on the project page “Digital Ceramics – Craft Beyond the Algorithm” has no captions or transcript yet.

How this statement was prepared

This statement is based on a self-assessment carried out on 3 November 2026: keyboard tests and browser-based checks of page structure, text alternatives, focus visibility and colour contrast on all page types, at mobile and desktop screen widths. No external audit has been carried out.
